The green house gases The greenhouse gases play a huge factor in the worlds extreme climate changes. Over the past couple years the climate change has significantly taken over the world. “Levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are higher today than at any time in measurable history.” (“Environmental Defense Fund”) There needs to be a significant change in the world, or else there won’t be any world at all. It will become too hot to even function, and all of our natural resources will be gone because they were all used up.
The decade 2000-2009 was on record the highest decade in the world’s history. (“Environmental Defense Fund”) If something is not done soon, each and every year will continue to get increasingly hotter. As of right now the United States temperature is increasing, even if it is the slightest bit. “Since 1970, the annual average temperature in the Northeast has increased by 2°F, with winter temperatures rising twice this much.”(“United States Global Change Research Program” p. 1-2)
The greenhouse gases have been responsible for the most change since the 1950’s. This not only affects human generation, but as well as the economic growth and social stability. As well as the weather changes, for example droughts, hurricanes, and floods all effect the world. For example the climate changes affect the military. (Pathemore p. 1-3) The United States Navy is greatly affected by the water changes because the changes of the sea level and temperature can greatly affect the equipment that they use as well as their missions. (Campbell p. 7)
The greenhouse gases do affect our world greatly today. If we start to conserve more we will be able to improve the earth little by little. And if every single person in the world did something little, for example recycling or taking a shorter shower, the world would be better off. Every little bit counts, after all the Earth is a living being too. (McLaughlin)
